Texas Bowl Insider: Week 11
★ posted on November 09, 2009
Navy is coming to the 2009 Texas Bowl! With a huge victory over #22 Notre Dame and a game-winning safety, the Midshipmen clenched a spot in their seventh consecutive bowl game and ruined the Fighting Irish’s BCS hopes. The Texas Bowl is proud to have Navy in the Texas Bowl and look forward to their visit.
The Big 12 has once again provided a roller coaster weekend of football. Nebraska upset Oklahoma, Baylor upset Missouri, and Colorado upset Texas A&M. Nebraska was the only team to become bowl eligible this weekend, and the bowl outlook is not much clearer than it was a week ago. We have three weeks left in regular season play, and the rivalry games are around the corner. There is no telling what will happen next!
Don’t forget to reserve your spot in the inaugural Texas Bowl Gridiron Legends Golf Tournament Presented by OfficeMax on December 2 at Kingwood Country Club. Proceeds benefit DePelchin Children’s Center and the Southern Texas PGA.
See you at the game!

The Navy Midshipmen are Texas Bowl Bound! On Saturday, Navy beat #22 Notre Dame for the second time in three years after going winless against the Irish for 43 years (1964-2006). The Cougars recovered an on-side kick and K Matt Hogan made a 51-yard field goal as time expired to beat Tulsa 46-45.
